It took all of Rilo’s sudden will to keep her eyes from flying open. She had totally forgotten! THAT STUPID BET! She squeezed her eyes shut and braced herself for the kiss…no way…Sasuke didn’t have the guts. She smiled to herself. One free expensive dinner coming up…

And finally, after ages, she felt his lips on her forehead. She cheered inside. FREE MEAL! FREE MEAL! FREE MEAL! FREE MEAL! FREE M—

And those lips that had been on her forehead moved to her own lips. Her eyes flew open and she quickly shut them before anyone could notice. Since when were Sasuke’s lips so soft? This had been totally abrupt and she turned about four shades red darker than her hat. Risking it, she opened one eye and found Sasuke a breath away from her, his eyes closed. Wait- was she enjoying THIS!

SHI—HE KISSED HER! HE KISSED HER. THAT WAS SO LOW. THAT WAS SO FREAKING LO—

But his lips parted and she felt a sudden thrill burst inside of her. Firmly shutting both eyes, she held in her breath and waited for the curtain to fall. At last, a burst of applause told her that a scene change was going on. She opened her eyes and sat up, smacking him in the head.

“WHAT THE HECK WAS THAT FO—”

But he muffled her voice, pointing to the tiny microphone attacked to her collar.

“They’ll hear you,” he whispered, smirking. “It’s not my fault,” he said, shrugging. “I just saw you lying there, your eyes were closed, and I was like, hey, why not?”

An angry noise made its way out of Rilo’s throat and Sasuke almost laughed.

“Just kidding- but you owe me dinner tomorrow.”

Another angry noise.

“Shut up!” he whispered gently. “We’re supposed to be dead, remember?”
